Hence he was named after his grandfather Ramses I.  At the age of fifteen, Ramses was the Prince of Egypt. He also got married to his two main wives, Nefertari and Isetnofret.

Ramses the second is most well known for his monumental construction, such as the temple at Abu Simbel. He also had a very long reign and now his mummy resides in the Egyptian Museum, Cairo.
